Do you ever wonder why everyone seems so genuinely happy at the One Wealth Advisors’ office? Sure, we enjoy what we do, but there’s another ingredient behind the smiles: we make time to actually connect with each other. One of the ways we do that is through our semiannual one-on-one lunches, where teammates step away from screens to share a meal and a conversation. No agenda, no pressure, just a chance to catch up, swap stories, and enjoy each other’s company.
I got a full dose of this during my recent week in San Francisco. I had lunch every day with a different teammate, and by the end of the week, my cup was very full (and not just from the food). There’s something about sitting across from someone, laughing, learning more about their life, and being fully present that just hits differently than a Zoom call. It reminded me how energizing it is to feel truly connected to the people you work with.
At the end of the day, those little moments of connection add up in a big way. They make collaboration easier, trust stronger, and the work more meaningful. So if you ever find yourself wondering why the OWA team feels a little extra positive, a little more connected, and a lot more like a community—well, now you know. Sometimes, it’s as simple as lunch.
