This summer, I attended three weddings, with one more on the horizon this fall. I am, of the age and life stage, as they say. I love weddings. I am also in midst of planning my own wedding, now less than a year out, in June 2027.
Aside from being a significant financial commitment, wedding planning is a labor of love, no matter how detail oriented a couple decides to be (we decided early on that we did not want to worry about the details). It requires real prioritization. Much like financial planning, it comes down to how you want to spend your money and time.
Do you care about incredible food? We would rather have live music and a memorable dance floor. Do you want immaculate, coordinated table settings? We love that our venue comes with a charming assortment of mismatched vintage plates, and the only decision left to us is napkin color.
I love how weddings reflect a couple and how they envision their special day. I know private vows are popular now, but if you come to my wedding, you will hear me publicly proclaim my love. Give the people what they want! Early on, we decided we wanted a FUN dance floor, and I think we’ve set the stage for exactly that. So, if you come to my wedding, I want you to dance.
