For those of you that know me well, you know I have a tendency to take on projects that consistently challenge me – and the results have often been incredibly satisfying once the project is in place. One of the ways that I increase the chance that I will take action when I have inspiration is to share the idea with those in my sphere. By doing so, I become accountable to anyone I have shared the idea with. The accountability becomes highly motivating, as I am someone who is proud to be a person others see as doing what I say I am going to do.
I highly recommend this strategy for anyone that wants to accomplish anything. But that is not the primary point of my writing this week. I am here to share with you an idea that I hope to make a reality. I am planning on launching a podcast that has the working title of “Ideas and Conversations with David Steele” (my brother, for one, hates the name so I am open to any suggestions!). The intent of the podcast will be to talk with people in my direct and indirect network who I greatly respect and who are willing to get real with me over a subject I am highly passionate about – the strategies successful people use to find peace and happiness in their lives.
Because of my strange and varied endeavors, I am fortunate to be surrounded by very interesting people, many of whom are successful (by many definitions of that word – not just financially or professionally) who have something to say about peace and happiness. Importantly, there is no intent to make this a commercial endeavor. Truthfully, I would like to write a book on the subject, but I much prefer to talk to people rather than have to write, hence, a podcast rather than a book. Working with me on the project will be team members from OWA – Tessa and Thomas. So there you have it – I have put it out into the world so hopefully we will make this come to fruition!
